The Challenge:
Imagine you are freshly out of college and being thrust into the world of Association Management. You have never been to an industry conference before, let alone planned and executed one. You don’t know proper virtual meeting and email etiquette or how to get board members that are twice your senior to take you seriously. These were all things I experienced when I first started at The Solution, and those are the very gaps The Solution NextGen will fill.
The Solution:
The purpose of The Solution NextGen is to equip our newest team members with the skills, confidence, and leadership mindset needed to earn trust, guide clients effectively, and represent The Solution with excellence. This may be the mission of our specific group, but the discussions we will be having have limitless applications. The fundamentals of leadership and professionalism are pertinent no matter what industry you are in.
In our first session, NextGen members set goals and shared current challenges they are experiencing. These items ranged from confidence in their knowledge, to running a meeting, to pushing themselves to have better time management, to setting boundaries that allow for work life harmony. At the end of this experience, we will review the goals set and they can look back and see how far they have come and how much growth they have experienced.
